I am a Rotarian and as you may be aware that there is Lions International, another large service organization. Rotarians use 'Rtn' as a title In front of their names whereas members of Lions International use " Lion" in front of their names.
When I started taking serious interest in LinkedIn and was looking forward to increase my no. of connections I saw there were many LIONs on LinkedIn. I was intrigued why there were many Lions and hardly any Rotarian. Well, my search took me to those LIONs - LinkedIn Open Networkers -and in the process I became a LION, LinkedIn Opene Networker, myself.
When one of my fellow Rotarians saw me using LION somewhere in my name he was shocked; he called me up and asked me how can I become LION along with being a Rotarian.
Lions International and their members are getting undue benefit due to this. Anyway, Good luck to Lions!
