Hi Laurence,

Sorry for a delayed response.

My sincere apologies.

Now few issues:

1. Yes, it was a mistake on my part that I didn't put your name. I accept that and I can understand your feelings over it. Sorry...

2. Even without reading your profile I could have put your name and I guess you would have believed it.

3. What is so great about your profile: Mr. Laurence, there are few things in my life that do not form part of my profile on any networking site. I was a student of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering in a prestigious institution.I dropped out of the program, but liking for the subject and the fact that I had given up engineering degree program was haunting me. (BTW, Indians attach a lot of importance to education and an engg. degree then, some 25 years back, was looked upon as passport to the road of success & riches). In a wilderness that followed, took me to obtain a Ham (Amateur) Radio licence; thought of becoming a Marine Radio Officer; tried doing many courses.

In the process I obtained many degrees but could not forget my passion for engineering, technology in general and communication and telecommunication in particular. My present job has got nothing to do with communication/telecommunication technology but the subject has remained at the core of my heart.I became a gadget freak...became an audiophile, owned dedicated audio processors, owned all the formats of audio & video cassettes player/recorders.I realised that although I couldn't do engineering, definitely I can be an end user and simply use fruits of the the technologies that I earlier fancied working on. Do you know that my house has three occupants,2 internet users but 3 computers ( a desktop & 2 laptops- all for personal & not business use), 5 internet connections ( 3 broadband,1 datacard,1 usb data modem ) that has unlimited download? My funda is straight, come what may be at least one internet connection should be working. (Again, to appreciate that one has go through a society that faces frequent power cuts & interuption in telco services).

In this light when I saw you are connected with telephony, the internet, fundraising (again, I am a Rotarian), I thought you have an interesting profile.I know that I may not subscribe to your telephony or other telecom services; I may not be of any help in your fundraising activities ( I donate to Roatary International,.my local Rotary club and few organisations dealing with old-age,cancer,children, etc.), even then I may like a personality that is behind such profile.

4. I received a lot of messages from fellow networkers. My current status was also showing that " I started answering mails from my Inbox...." . I could read yours today only and after reading your message I thought this needs to be addressed on a priority basis.

5. I would like to thank you for providing me this opportunity to write on something that I have avoided so far and now should be a part of my blog and may be my profile.

6. I have tried to explain you what I felt when I saw your profile.

I am fascinated more by people, of diverse culture, their viewpoints, etc. As correctly pointed out by one of the Ecademists, most of the profiles are blatant sales pitch. But not always. And there are some others - watchers - who have nothing on offer to sell ! They are probably intrigued by the diversity (in terms of skills, attitudes and perceptions) of people in the world and like to see people with interesting profiles.

Thanks for the patience.

Best regards,

Prashant Koli

Physical Excercise

My physician has advised me to take a brisk walk and not do weight training exercises due to some of my health related problems. She added that I take a walk during evening also besides the morning walk.

Earlier I was not a regular walker. But since 22nd April, 2008, I am very much regular, as far as my walking exercise is concerned. I ensure that I have atleast 1, 5 to 6 km walk. So, on most of the days I walk briskly for 10 to 12 km.

It has really helped me in weight reduction and other situations.

On 21st april 2008, my physician's weighing machine was winking at me with 90 kg and today morning weighing machine at my home was smiling with cool 81 kg.

I know that my target should be 72-73 kg, given my height, 171 cm (and a broad frame), but why not celebrate this small victory!
